Purchase Invoices           

 

All businesses need to make purchases: office equipment and supplies, fuel and maintenance for vehicles etc. Independence™ provides facilities for you to record Purchase Invoices and their payment. The VAT paid is taken into account in the quarterly VAT return, and the goods portion can be allocated to various Cost Codes ( a standard set is provided, but you can customise them). The latter figures form part of your year end figures.

For IR35 purposes, Cost Codes can be marked as deductible (travelling expenses and PI Insurance)

It may not be immediately apparent, but things like insurance premiums are purchases even though you do not usually receive an invoice for each payment. Independence™ allows you to set up Regular Payments for this sort of thing and when they are paid periodically, purchase invoices are automatically created.
