Dividends           

 

Decisions regarding how much of the company's income to pay as salary and how much a dividends is a decision for you to make in conjunction with your accountant. Some points are discussed here.

When you have decided to pay a dividend Independence™ does the donkey work for you.

screen shot (click to enlarge)Firstly you select the Financial Year in respect of which the dividend is being paid (not necessarily the current one). Then enter the total net amount to be paid (note that you can only pay dividends out of profits and reserves). Finally enter the date on which the dividend is to be paid and the bank account from which the payments will be made. Independence™ will then look at the list of shareholders and divide the total between them in the proportion of their shareholding. The Tax Credit will also be calculated automatically. 
It only then remains to enter the cheque numbers and click the 'yes' button.

This is an example of the dividend vouchers that can now be printed. The heading is the same as that which you have chosen for your invoices.

A report may be printed listing all the dividend payments for a particular year.
